Немецко-русский ученый Борис Якоби в первую очередь известен тем, что изобрел технологию гальванопластики. Если коротко, то это техника для создания точных копий объектов из металла. При помощи нее были созданы многие художественные произведения. Например, метод гальванопластики применялся для украшения Исаакиевского собора в Санкт-Петербурге.
Также Борис Якоби известен как изобретатель первого в мире электрического двигателя. Они существовали и раньше, но вариант 1834 года оказался первым, мощности которого хватало для практического применения. При помощи электродвигателя Бориса Якоби люди первые смогли привести в движение транспортные средства.

Первый отечественный электромобиль был создан изобретателем Ипполитом Владимировичем Романовым в 1899 году. Разработанная им «Кукушка» могла везти двух человек на скорости до 35 километров в час. Одного заряда аккумулятора ему хватало на преодоление расстояния в 60 километров. Благодаря использованию легких материалов, автомобиль весил всего лишь 750 килограммов, причем 370 килограммов весили аккумуляторы.

Инженер решил усовершенствовать этот вид транспорта и создал электрические омнибусы. Для их движения лошади были не нужны, а внутри помещалось до 17 человек. Разгоняясь до скорости 20 километров в час, электрический вид транспорта на одном заряде преодолевать 60 километров пути.
В общем, Ипполит Романов был большим экспертом в области электрического транспорта. Возможно, сегодня он смог бы создать отличный российский аналог зарубежного Tesla.

В 1952 году она разработала первый в мире компилятор — программу, которая превращает написанный программистом инструкцию в понятный компьютеру код.
