В космосе уже побывали самые разные виды животных — собаки, обезьяны, кролики, крысы, мыши, морские свинки, лягушки и пр. Разумеется, отправка каждого вида на орбиту была необходима в тех или иных научных целях. Точно так же произошло и с рыбами — в начале 70-х годов ученые НАСА решили провести важное научное исследование. В результате 28 июля 1973 года в космос отправились две мумихоги. Это был важный эксперимент, проводившийся в рамках изучения так называемого синдром космической адаптации, от которой часто страдают космонавты. Что такое космическая болезнь
Космическая болезнь, или синдром космической адаптации, является состоянием, похожим на морскую болезнь. Оно возникает в ответ на невесомость, а точнее — микрогравитацию. Симптомами космической болезни является снижение аппетита, головокружение, головная боль, усиление слюноотделения, тошнота и даже рвота, а также пространственные иллюзии.
Надо сказать, что о существовании космической болезни знают далеко не все люди, так как о ней редко рассказывают космонавты, не пишут в фантастической литературе и не показывают в фильмах. Однако по разным данным с ней сталкиваются от трети до половины всех космонавтов. Поэтому она может стать серьезной проблемой на пути к освоению космоса.
Кроме того, космическая болезнь может стать препятствием для космического туризма. Следует понимать, что астронавты на Земле проходят определенный отбор и тренировки, поэтому они, например, гораздо более устойчивы к морской болезни в отличие от большинства людей, тем не менее все равно страдают от синдрома космической адаптации. Поэтому не удивительно, что на тошноту жалуются космические туристы, которые даже на сравнительно непродолжительное время попадают в космос.

Какие рыбы побывали в космосе
Рыбы практически всю свою жизнь проводят в условиях, близких к невесомости. Поэтому ученые НАСА задались вопросом — как на них повлияет настоящая микрогравитация. Конечно, для исследования лучше всего подошли бы дельфины, которые являются млекопитающими животными. Однако по понятным причинам выбор пал на рыб небольшого размера, обладающих высокой выносливостью. Этим требованиям в полной мере соответствуют мумихоги (Fundulus Heterclitus).
Эти рыбы известны своей выживаемостью даже в самых экстремальных условиях. Они хорошо адаптируются к разным температурным условиям, разной солености воды и даже загрязнению. Кроме того, мумихоги водятся у мыса Канаверал, поэтому не удивительно, что ученые в качестве подопытных выбрали именно их. В итоге две особи вместе с икрой были доставлены на орбитальную исследовательскую станцию Скайлэб.

Как рыбы плавают в условиях невесомости
Как сообщает издание Scientific American, рыбы в условиях невесомости стали наклоняться вперед и плавать “петлями”. Спустя некоторое время они разработали новый способ определения “верха”, ориентируясь по огням внутри космической станции вместо Солнца.
Конечно, ученые не могли узнать насколько рыб тошнит и как они себя чувствуют, однако петлеобразные движения они интерпретировали как дезориентацию, связанную с нарушением работы центров баланса внутреннего уха. Это предположение подтверждается тем фактом, что поведение рыб нормализовалось спустя тот же срок, что и самочувствие астронавтов, то есть на третий день пребывания в космосе рыбы приспособились к микрогравитации.
Но что самое интересное, новорожденные мальки, вылупившиеся из икринок, сразу плавали нормально, то есть с первого дня своего рождения уже были адаптированы к невесомости. Они плавали спиной к свету, как будто это был верх.

С тех пор рыб неоднократно отправляли в космос. Например, в ходе одной из исследовательских работ, на МКС были отправлены шесть золотых рыбок. У одной из них перед полетом удалили отолиты (ушные кости, часть органа равновесия), у четырех отолиты были удалены только с одной стороны, и одна рыба была с обоими отолитами.
Ситуация с петлеобразными движениями рыб повторилась. Особи с одним отолитом сначала “клонились” на прооперированную сторону, но к восьмому дню восстановились. Правда все пять рыб к 12 дню время от времени все еще совершали петлеобразные движения. Когда рыбы вернулись на Землю, они хорошо адаптировались к возвращению гравитации.

В целом же исследования показали, что даже рыбы в космосе испытывают нечто похожее на космическую болезнь. Поэтому вряд ли ее удастся избежать людям. Во всяком случае, в настоящее время таких методов не существует.
