Новая технология диагностики рака позволяет обнаружить заболевание по образцу крови
Правда, в США в настоящее время одобрена диагностика раковых заболеваний поджелудочной железы по одному биомаркеру, известному как CA19-9. Однако существующие тесты определяют заболевание только в 80% случаев, причем только после того, как у пациентов появляются симптомы болезни. До появления симптомов эффективность этого метода не превышает 13%.
Новая же технология, разработанная китайскими учеными, основана на системе машинного обучения, которая анализирует в крови множество побочных продуктов метаболизма, или метаболитов. Ранее мы уже рассказывали, что при онкологических заболеваниях меняется метаболизм. К слову, это становится одной из причин того, что люди начинают сильно терять вес.
Таким образом, метаболиты, которые содержатся в крови, служат своего рода “биомаркерами”, по которым можно определить наличие рака у человека. Важным преимуществом данного метода диагностики является то, что рак можно выявить на ранних стадиях, так как определенные метаболиты при заболевании онкологией появляются сразу, даже когда у человека еще нет каких-либо симптомов.

Новая эффективная технология диагностики рака
В исследовании, проведенном учеными, новый инструмент диагностики на основе ИИ смог отличить доноров крови без рака, от доноров, больных онкологией. Эффективность теста оказалась в пределах 82-100%. Об этом авторы сообщают в журнале Nature Sustainability. Для диагностики системе требуется менее 0,05 миллилитра крови.
Самое интересное, что данный инструмент может проводить диагностику как по жидкой крови, так и высушенной. В одном из тестов система смогла обнаружить рак поджелудочной железы даже по высушенным пятнам крови в 81,2% случаев. Высушенную кровь можно хранить и транспортировать с гораздо меньшими затратами. По мнению ученых, это позволило бы сделать тесты доступными во всем мире, включая бедные страны Африки.
Кроме того, по мнению исследователей, разработанная ими технология позволит сократить предполагаемую долю невыявленных случаев рака на 20-50% в сельских районах Китая. Разумеется, речь о трех видах онкологических заболеваний, озвученных выше. Это позволит повысить выживаемость или хотя бы продлить многим людям жизнь.
