То есть предполагалось, что старые воспоминания удаляются, и вместо них записываются новые. Как мозг работает с воспоминаниями
Недавнее исследование ученых было проведено на мышах. После того как грызуны выполняли те или иные задания, команда наблюдала за активностью различных групп нейронов в гиппокампе. Задания в себя включали обучение по избеганию неприятных ситуаций, таких как удар током по ногам.

Как сообщается в исследовании, опубликованном в издании Science, для хранения воспоминаний мозг использует сразу три группы нейронов, которые различаются по времени создания, степени пластичности, а также “силе памяти”. На самом первом этапе, когда воспоминания еще совсем свежие, в гиппокампе мышей возникают так называемые «ранние нейроны», отвечающие за хранение долгосрочной копии памяти. Эта память слаба, но со временем становится более сильной.
Спустя некоторое время возникают нейроны второй группы, или среднего уровня. Они изначально более стабильные. Затем, после того как проходит еще определенное время, образуются “нейроны позднего происхождения”, которые, по словам ученых, кодируют “сильные копии памяти”. Однако со временем их сила начинает ослабевать.
Другими словами, исследователи обнаружили, что мозг создает вначале одну копию памяти, затем вторую, а спустя некоторое время — третью. За каждую копию, соответственно, отвечает своя определенная группа нейронов. Все, по мнению исследователей, работают в разных временных масштабах.

Такую систему воспоминаний можно представить себе как три разных файла на компьютере. Вначале мозг создает ранний, то есть самый первый файл, затем создает его копию и работает с ним, а спустя еще некоторое время — создает третью копию файла, но при этом все предыдущие файлы продолжают храниться, по крайней мере, некоторое время.
Зачем мозг создает три копии воспоминаний
Авторы исследования считают, что их открытие может объяснить, как мозг регулирует воспоминания с течением времени. Правда, пока неясно, как эти нейроны взаимодействуют друг с другом. Но зато ученые обнаружили, что воспоминания, хранящиеся в самых поздних нейронах, наиболее пластичные и податливые.
Это может означать, что когда воспоминания еще совсем свежие и хранятся в первой группе нейронов, они стабильные и не искаженные. Правда, сказать «неискаженные» можно совсем условно, так как известно, что память искажает события в первые же секунды. Но со временем, когда воспоминания хранятся уже долго, они начинают легче искажаться новой информацией. Правда, в исследовании ничего не говорится о том, в какой момент и как происходит переход от ранней копии воспоминаний к средней и поздней.

Ученые смогут лечить ПТСР и потерю памяти?
Еще пока рано говорить о том, что человеческий мозг работает с воспоминаниями так же, как мозг мышей. Однако, если это предположение подтвердиться, ученые смогут разработать новые методы лечения различных расстройств и заболеваний, связанных с памятью.
Например, при посттравматическом стрессовом расстройстве (ПТСР) людей мучают неприятные навязчивые воспоминания о событиях, которые нанесли психологическую травму. Возможно, ученым удастся разработать препараты, которые помогут деактивировать раннерожденные нейроны и активировать поздние, которые менее стабильные, а значит, более восприимчивые к психотерапии. Как мы ранее уже рассказывали, плохая память — это не недостаток человеческого мозга, а необходимая нам особенность, которая помогает нам получать удовлетворение от жизни и вообще чувствовать себя благополучно.
