В первые же часы пребывания аппарата в космосе выяснилось, что у него возникли серьезные проблемы. Об этом сразу же сообщила компания Astrobotic, которая и занималась подготовкой миссии. Причем, изначально поступали противоречивые сообщения относительно того, что именно произошло с аппаратом. Вначале стало известно о проблемах с солнечными панелями, но позже выяснилось, что неисправность связана еще и с утечкой топлива.

Что произошло с миссией Peregrine One
Как мы рассказывали ранее, лунная миссия должна была стартовать еще 24 декабря. Однако впоследствии она была перенесена, и запуск состоялся 8 января 2024 года в 7:18 утра по Гринвичу. Аппарат вывела на орбиту ракета-носитель Vulcan Centaur, созданная компанией United Launch Alliance (ULA). На борту ракета имела посадочный модуль Peregrine, который должен доставить на Луну исследовательское оборудование и некоторый коммерческий груз.
Изначально миссия шла успешно, однако спустя несколько часов в соцсети X появилось заявление от компании Astrobotic. В нем говорится, что проблема возникла с солнечными панелями космического корабля. Они больше не были направлены на Солнце.
Затем последовало второе заявление, в котором сообщалось, что источник аномалии, предположительно, находится в системе двигателей. Компания сообщила, что в случае подтверждения неисправности, посадочный модуль не сможет совершить мягкую посадку на Луну.

Мягкая посадка модуля Peregrine оказалась под вопросом
В том же сообщении говорилось, что батареи космического корабля разряжены. При попытке изменить ориентацию солнечных панелей, произошла потеря связи с кораблем. Однако в конечном итоге переориентация произошла успешно, что позволило зарядить аккумуляторы.
В момент переориентации панелей было обнаружено, что произошла утечка топлива. Правда, пока ничего не говорится о том, насколько она критичная. Очевидно, окончательные выводы делать пока рано, так как данные все еще собираются, идет расследование происшествия. Даже если выяснится, что миссия завершена, полученные данные будут полезны для будущих миссий.
Astrobotic также опубликовала первое фото с борта аппарата. Снимок был сделан камерой, закрепленной на верхней части грузового отсека. На фото можно заметить нарушение многослойной изоляции корабля. Как пояснили представители компании, эта визуальная подсказка совпала с полученными данными телеметрии, о которых говорилось во втором заявлении.

Человеческие останки не будут доставлены на Луну?
Инженеры в настоящее время работают над решением проблемы, но пока неясно, какова будет судьба этой миссии. Компания Astrobotic после нескольких сообщений сохраняет молчание. А значит, проблему решить все еще не удалось.
Как уже было сказано выше, миссия была задумана как возвращение американцев на Луну спустя полвека. В ней принимала участие НАСА, а также другие учреждения. Примечательно, что помимо всевозможного научного оборудования, которое планировалось доставить, на борту имеются различные артефакты с Земли. Среди них порода с горы Эверест и даже человеческие останки.
Надо сказать, что наличие останков вызвало скандал в обществе. Например, этому факту возмутились американские индейцы Навахо. Они даже обращались в НАСА, чтобы агентство воспрепятствовало этому, однако в просьбе было отказано, так как не существует никаких правил относительно того, что можно отправлять на Луну, а что нельзя.
Теперь же, похоже, индейцам не о чем волноваться. Шансов совершить посадку у посадочного модуля становится все меньше. Надо сказать, что ранее две другие частные компании из Израиля и Японии пытались совершить посадку на Луну, но они не увенчались успехом. Если же аппарату Peregrine все же удастся сесть на Луну, это будет первая в истории посадка частного аппарата.

Напоследок напомним, что недавно российская лунная миссия Луна-25 также потерпела неудачу. Зато успеха удалось добиться индийскому посадочному модулю Чандраян, который не только успешно прилунился, но и работал в течение всего лунного дня. Однако проснуться после лунной ночи ему все же не удалось.
