Прямо сейчас на поверхности Марса работают два марсохода Perseverance и Curiosity, а также вертолет Ingenuity. Первый марсоход находится в кратере Джезеро и собирает образцы марсианского грунта для последующей отправки на Землю. Аппарат Curiosity работает в кратере Гейла, проводя геологические и геохимические исследования. По плану, вертолет Ingenuity был должен совершить один полет и доказать, что похожие на него летательные аппараты подходят для работы на Марсе. Но он оказался настолько эффективным, что время от времени помогает марсоходу Perseverance прокладывать лучшие пути. Недавно аэрокосмическое агентство NASA потеряло связь со всеми тремя аппаратами, и она не будет полноценно восстановлена еще пару недель. Но пугаться не стоит — к этому специалисты готовились два года, и на данный момент все идет по плану.

Потеря связи между Землей и Марсом
О том, что специалисты NASA утратили связь с тремя своими самыми главными аппаратами для изучения Марса, рассказали авторы научного издания IFL Science. Полноценная связь была отключена 11 ноября 2023 года, и будет повторно включена только 25 ноября. Специалисты не смогут отправлять команды, поэтому аппараты будут работать в автоматическом режиме. Но при этом они будут отправлять на Землю телеметрические данные о том, что с ними все хорошо.

Передаче сигналов с Земли на Марс в ноябре 2023 года будет мешать Солнце
Потеря связи марсоходов NASA с Землей связана с тем, что планета Марс будет заслонена Солнцем. Это происходит примерно раз в два года, поэтому космическое агентство прекрасно знало об этом и начало готовиться заранее. Когда между Марсом и Землей оказывается Солнце, передача данных возможна, однако возникающие искажения могут оказаться настолько сильными, что команды могут доставляться с ошибками. Впоследствии это может привести к поломке Perseverance, Curiosity и Ingenuity. Поэтому на время прохождения Марса за Солнцем, было решено не отправлять им команды.

Чем занимаются марсоходы на Марсе
За два года до этого события, специалисты заранее определили, какие функции будут выполнять три аппарата в автоматическом режиме. Было очень важно, чтобы задачи были максимально простыми, с минимальной вероятностью возникновения сбоя. Так, на протяжении двух недель марсоходы Perseverance и Curiosity будут оставаться на одном месте и следить за состоянием поверхности, погодой и уровнем радиации. А вертолет Ingenuity в режиме автопилота будет использовать свою камеру для того, чтобы следить за движениями песка на Марсе. Для всех аппаратов были выбраны наиболее безопасные места, где их не смогут сломать ветер и другие явления.

Марсоход Perseverance
На протяжении всего этого времени простоя, специалисты будут получать данные о состоянии аппаратов. Полностью связь с устройствами будет отсутствовать только около двух суток. Агентству NASA очень важно постоянно знать, что с марсоходами и вертолетом все в порядке. Во время спуска марсохода Perseverance в 2021 году мы уже пережили «7 минут ужаса», в течение которых аппарат должен был спуститься на поверхность в автоматическом режиме. А в 2022 году марсоход Perseverance нашел на Марсе «потенциальные признаки жизни». На данный момент его главной задачей является сбор марсианского грунта, который примерно в 2030-е годы будет отправлен на Землю для изучения в лабораторных условиях. Есть вероятность, что в этих образцах будут найдены живые или мертвые микробы, которые докажут, что мы не одни во Вселенной.
