Существует легенда, согласно которой в 13 веке до нашей эры произошла Троянская война. Она началась потому, что сын троянской царской семьи Парис похитил Елену — жену спартанского царя Менелая. Правитель, что ожидаемо, был очень разозлен этим и сразу же объявил древнему городу Трое войну. Больше всего об этом легендарном событии известно из древнегреческого произведения «Илиада», написанного поэтом Гомером. Считается, что эта война длилась целых 10 лет, причем на протяжении долгого времени греческие воины стояли у ворот Трои и не могли попасть внутрь. Это продолжалось до тех пор, пока им не пришла гениальная идея — они оставили у города деревянную конструкцию в виде лошади, внутри которой прятались вооруженные греки. Жители Трои решили, что это подношение для богини Афины, и затащили коня внутрь города. Ночью из него вышли воины и одержали победу над городом. Звучит хитро и эпично, но насколько все это правда?

Слой отложений, в котором были найдены эти артефакты, относились примерно к 1200 году до нашей эры. С натяжкой, эта дата совпадает со временами событий, которые были упомянуты в гомеровской «Илиаде». Может быть, на этой земле когда-то давно и велась легендарная битва, но опять же, с уверенностью связывать эти находки с событиями 10-летней войны никто не хочет.

Можно ли найти останки Троянского коня
Легендарный Троянский конь, при помощи которого греки проникли в город Трою и разрушили его, тоже упоминается в эпическом произведении Гомера. Однако, он пишет об этом только мельком. Гораздо больше об этом хитром сооружении написано в произведении «Энеида», сочиненном римским поэтом Вергилием. Но этот эпос был написан спустя тысячелетия со времен предполагаемых событий. Так что ученые не особо склонны верить в реальное существование Троянского коня.

Некоторые исследователи предполагают, что Троянский конь был не буквальным, а метафорическим. Например, исследователь Арман Д’Ангур предполагает, что если древний город Троя действительно существовал и располагался на холме Гиссарлык, греки могли покрывать свои осадные орудия конскими шкурами и защищать их от огня. Таким же образом «Троянскими конями» можно было назвать тараны и другие военные машины.
Даже если огромный Троянский конь существовал, и действительно находился внутри города Троя, археологи никогда не найдут его останки. В первую очередь это связано с тем, что во время уничтожения древнего города он мог сгореть до тла. А если он каким-то чудом сохранился, он точно разложился в почве — все-таки, со времен легендарной Троянской войны прошли многие тысячи лет.
