В Абу-Даби на днях прошло нетривиальное событие в мире спорта и высоких технологий — гонка беспилотных болидов. Соревнования, в которых приняли участие 8 команд, проходили в течение двух дней. В некоторой степени это был научный эксперимент, а также соревнования между программистами. Мероприятие вовсе не шуточное, так как призовой фонд составлял 2,25 миллиона долларов США. Первая автономная гоночная лига Абу-Даби (A2RL) собрала около 10 тысяч зрителей. Фактически, эта гонка раздвинула границы автономных технологий, а вместе с тем сделала экстремальный вид спорта еще более зрелищным и развлекательным.

Самые необычные гонки на болидах
Мероприятие было организовано ASPIRE, дочерней компанией Совета по исследованию передовых технологий Абу-Даби (ATRC). Задача гонок заключалась не только в развлечении зрителей, хотя с этим они тоже справились отлично. Например, в онлайне за соревнованиями наблюдали 600 тысяч зрителей. Однако основная цель заключалась в ускорении глобального развития автономных систем и технологий.
Также A2RL позволила проверить пределы человеческой изобретательности и возможности современного искусственного интеллекта. Участники имели в своем распоряжении несколько месяцев на подготовку. Чтобы все команды находились в равном положении, им были предоставлены одинаковые автомобили — Dallara Super Formula SF23. Поэтому победить мог только тот, чей искусственный интеллект был более совершенным.

Над адаптацией болидов к автономным гонкам работал Институт технологических инноваций (TII), дочерняя компания ASPIRE. Все автомобили были оснащены датчиками, электронными системами управления, и всем необходимым для автономной работы. Задача команд заключалась только в создании программного обеспечения.
Автономная гонка — почему это чрезвычайно сложно
В настоящее время ИИ добился невероятных результатов, о чем мы уже неоднократно рассказывали. Он создает новые лекарства, расшифровывает древние тексы, ставит диагнозы и раскрывает секреты картин великих художников. Однако в плане автономного управления автомобилем, достижений на самом деле не так много.
В настоящее время во всем мире существует только один коммерческий автомобиль, который обладает автопилотом третьего уровня — это Mercedes-Benz. Его автопилот позволяет водителю убрать руки с руля и не следить за дорогой. Правда, он все равно требует, чтобы водитель находился на водительском сидении и не спал. Кроме того, автопилот работает только на определенных трассах и при хороших погодных условия. Скорость движения в режиме автопилота не превышает 64 км/ч.
Обеспечить же спортивный автомобиль автопилотом еще сложнее. ИИ должен учитывать уровень сцепления шин с дорогой и их температуру, чтобы управлять болидом на пределе сцепления. Кроме того, он должен прогнозировать движение соперников и совершать успешные обгоны. То есть ИИ должен выполнять все то, что делает гонщик интуитивно.
На трассе одновременно находилось сразу четыре автомобиля, что также усложняло задачу. Тем не менее команды-участники, а точнее разработанные ими нейросети, справились с ней успешно. Гонки получились увлекательными и захватывающими.

На последнем круге автомобиль Мюнхенского технического университета обогнал болид итальянской команды UNIMORE, заняв первое место. Таким образом, немецкие разработчики стали первым победителем A2RL, так как их нейросеть оказалась самой совершенной.
Но еще более захватывающим зрелищем на гоночной трассе оказалась игра “ИИ против человеческой расы”. Институт технологических инноваций (TII) выставил свой автономный болид против профессионального гонщика Формулы-1 Даниила Квята. Гонка длилась в течение 45 минут. Как сообщает издание AETOSWire, гонщику удалось обойти искусственный интеллект на 10,38 секунды. Однако соревнование было невероятно захватывающим, и показало насколько автономный гоночный автомобиль ведет себя аналогично автомобилю, управляемому профессиональным гонщиком.
