Если инсульт и инфаркт вызывает мгновенный приступ, который часто заканчивается летальным исходом, то сердечно-сосудистая недостаточность развивается медленно. То есть сердечная мышца медленно ослабевает, причем настолько сильно, что сердцу становится сложно перекачивать кровь по всему телу. Это угрожающее жизни состояние, которое тоже часто приводит к смерти.
В своем исследовании ученые проанализировали медицинские записи более 175 тысяч взрослых американцев, участвовавших в одной из исследовательских программ Национального института здравоохранения США. Из них почти 30 тысяч человек сообщили, что когда-либо парили вейпы. Среди этих людей более 3000 человек столкнулись с сердечной недостаточностью в течение четырех лет.
По сравнению с людьми, которые никогда не парили вейпы, у любителей электронных сигарет риск развития сердечной недостаточности повышен на 19 процентов. Причем у таких людей развивается особый тип заболевания, при которой сердечная мышца напрягается и не наполняется кровью должным образом. Об этом исследователи сообщают в журнале Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Еще более высокий риск сердечной недостаточности был у тех, кто курил и обычные сигареты, и вейпы. У таких людей данный показатель увеличен до 59 процентов. Среди участников примерно 60 процентов были женщины, средний возраст которых составлял 52 года.
Для получения точных результатов, ученые исключили людей с предрасположенностью к сердечной недостаточности, а также тех, у кого она была изначально. К факторам риска сердечной недостаточности относится диабет, высокое кровяное давление, высокий уровень холестерина, и т.д.
