Из этих организмов в свое время эволюционировала сложная многоклеточная жизнь. Сложная жизнь возникла из эукариотов
Ранее мы рассказывали о том, что жизнь на Земле по сей день могла бы оставаться в виде простейших одноклеточных организмов прокариотов, которые не имеют мембранного ядра. Однако у эволюции появился шанс благодаря одному случайному событию — древняя архея поглотила бактерию, и они начали эволюционировать вместе. В результате появились сложные одноклеточные организмы с органеллами, которые смогли развиться в многоклеточные организмы.
Таким образом, между самыми первыми одноклеточными (прокариотами) и более поздними (эукариотами), такими как инфузория туфелька, существует огромная разница. Последние хоть и состоят из одной клетки, но представляют собой сложнейший организм. Первым прокариотом, который эволюционировал, по мнению ученых, были асгардские микробы.
На Земле снова зародилась жизнь
Ученые обнаружили известную структуру в сложных клетках, поглощающую азот из атмосферы и преобразовывающую его в форму, которую клетка может использовать для своего жизнеобеспечения. Клетка морской водоросли с новой органеллой нитропластом (указана срелочкой)
Давно известно, что бактерии и водоросли живут в симбиозе друг с другом. Микробы поставляют азот в той форме, которую водоросли могут поглощать для своего жизнеобеспечения. Водоросли же в свою очередь обеспечивают микробов домом для жизни. Однако исследования, опубликованные в журналах Cell и Science показало, что микроб принял новую форму, и теперь является неотъемлемой частью клеточной структурой, проще говоря органеллой, играющей ключевую роль в метаболизме водорослей. Соответственно органелла реплицирует, то есть делится, вместе с клеткой.
Это открытие стало четвертым за всю историю Земли известным фактом “первичного эндосимбиоза”, то есть превращением прокариотической клетки в органеллу эукариота. Правда, в данном случае прокариота поглотил организм, который и до этого события был эукариотом, но теперь клетка стала еще более сложной.
Ученые вначале обнаружили, что бактерия UCYN-A, ставшая нитропластом, имеет схожие соотношения размеров, что и клетка-хозяин. Это указывает на переплетение их метаболизма. Одинаковое соотношение размеров — это характерный признак всех органелл, в том числе митохондрий и хлоропластов.

Как поясняют ученые, бактерии внутри клетки-хозяина начинают выбрасывать кусочки своего ДНК, в результате чего их геномы становятся все меньше и меньше. Поэтому они начинают зависеть от материнской клетки в плане транспортировки белка.
