Питающиеся кровью пауки относятся к роду эварха из семейства пауков-скакунов. Они обитают на территориях Кении и Уганды, вокруг озера Виктория — особенно сильно их привлекают места, где живут люди.
Это небольшие создания размером менее одного сантиметра, поэтому заметить их на предметах и тем более на собственном теле очень трудно. В научной среде эти крошечные создания известны как Evarcha culicivora. В английской литературе их часто называют «пауками-вампирами» из-за того, что они косвенно питаются кровью млекопитающих. Они не сосут кровь позвоночных напрямую, потому что их крошечные челюсти не способны прокусить кожу.
Вместо этого, они следуют другой, более хитрой стратегии — в стволах деревьев и внутри зданий они поджидают комаров и прыгают на них. Это занимает у них всего лишь 0,04 секунды, то есть атаку эвархов можно назвать молниеносной. Они всегда выбирают самок комаров, потому что только они питаются кровью. Ученые пытались давать паукам питающихся нектарами самцов, но они их не заинтересовали, так что сомнений в том, что их привлекает именно кровь в брюхе самок, вообще нет.

На кого охотятся комары
Примечательно, что кровососущие скакуны преимущественно охотятся на комаров рода Anopheles gambiae. Они являются одними из самых главных распространителей малярии на территориях Кении и Уганды. В 2021 году в мире было зарегистрировано 247 миллионов случаев малярии — ежегодно она уносит жизни сотен тысяч человек. Исходя из этого, пауки эварха не несут угрозы человечеству, а наоборот, защищают нас от страшного заболевания.

Ученые считают, что пауки-скакуны различают самок комаров от самцов при помощи своего острого зрения. Как правило, у самцов имеются крупные усы, по которым пауки и ориентируются во время охоты. Также не исключено, что они замечают наполненное кровью брюшко и просвечивающую через тонкий слой хитина кровь.

Как пауки переваривают пищу
Остальные виды пауков-скакунов питаются жидкой пищей. После успешной охоты, им приходится впрыскивать в тела жертв пищеварительные соки и дожидаться того, чтобы их внутренности превратились в жидкую кашицу. Если паук напал и убил насекомое крупного размера, переваривание внутренностей может занять несколько часов. Как можно понять, такой способ питания является далеко не самым удобным.

Скакуны вида Evarcha culicivora оказались умнее своих сородичей. Вместо того, чтобы убивать комаров при помощи яда и разжижать их внутренности пищеварительными соками, они просто протыкают наполненные кровью брюха своими крошечными клыками и питаются сытной кровью млекопитающих — к счастью, их челюстям хватает сил для проделывания отверстий в хитине. Высасывать кровь им не приходится, потому что внутри комаров она находится под давлением и течет прямо в рот членистоногих.

Исходя из всего написанного выше получается, что людям точно не стоит бояться пауков-вампиров. Даже наоборот, их нужно защищать, потому что они сокращают численность переносчиков смертельно опасной малярии. А жителям России бояться встречи с этими созданиями тем более не стоит, потому что они обитают только в Африке. Однако, нам стоит опасаться встречи как минимум с двумя другими видами пауков. Во-первых, это каракурт, укус которого мучает 2 недели и может убить. А во-вторых, это паук-оса, нашествие которых в 2023 году произошло в Москве и Подмосковье. Будьте внимательны!
