Другое исследование, проведенное в 2023 году, показало, что у пациентов, прооперированных женщинами, снижен риск неблагоприятного послеоперационного исхода. Таким образом, учитывая результаты всех предыдущих работ, можно прийти к выводу, что при возможности выбора, предпочтение все же лучше отдавать врачу-женщине.
Кого женщины-врачи лучше лечат — мужчин или женщин?
Во всех предыдущих исследованиях ученые не искали закономерность между полом врача и полом пациента. Поэтому американские исследователи решили устранить этот пробел в знаниях, и провели масштабное исследование, в ходе которого изучили данные около 800 тысяч пациентов. Среди них были люди старше 65 лет, а также молодые пациенты с ограниченными возможностями, а также терминальной стадией заболевания почек, при которой возникают опасные осложнения почечной недостаточности.
Все эти люди попали в больницу в период с 2016 по 2019 год. В целом результаты относительно пола врача, и для пациентов мужчин, и для пациенток женщин, коррелировали с предыдущими исследованиями. То есть у них были более высокие показатели выживаемости, а также меньше риск повторной госпитализации в течение 30 дней после выписки, если их лечила врач женщина.

Например, если врачом была женщина, смертность составляла 10,15%, а если они лечились у врача мужчины, смертность была повышена до 10,23%.
