Также исследования не показали эффективность упражнения для глаз при пресбиопии. При этом заболевании люди обычно ходят без очков, но надевают их во время чтения. Обычно пресбиопия начинается у людей после 40 лет.
Пресбиопия не относится ни к близорукости, ни к дальнозоркости. Проблемы со зрением возникают из-за того, что со временем хрусталик становится более жестким, в результате чего человеку становится сложно фокусировать зрение на мелком тексте. С возрастом проблема усугубляется.
Например, в выводе одного из исследований, касающегося “метода чтения без очков”, говорится, что терапия, основанная на упражнениях, не вызывает клинически или статистически значимых изменений в остроте зрения, однако у участников эксперимента наблюдались субъективная положительная реакция. То есть людям казалось, что их зрение немного улучшилось, но фактически улучшений не было.
