Почему у самцов отсутствует молоко
Как правило, уход за потомством, или большую его часть, берет на себя мать. Поэтому логично, что и за кормление грудью тоже отвечает она. Однако существуют млекопитающие, у которых уходом за потомством занимаются отцы. Например, это касается совиных обезьян. Их можно назвать одними из самых преданных отцов среди приматов, так как они берут на себя 80-90% ухода за детьми. Однако несмотря на это самцы не кормят потомство своим молоком, передают для этого детенышей своей партнерше.
Это опровергает версию о том, что отсутствие лактации у самцов связано с меньшей заботой о потомстве. Узнав об этих обезьянах, сотрудники Йоркского университета предположили, что существует другая эволюционную причина, и она лежит на поверхности.

Но что будет, если передавать свои бактерии ребенку в результате кормления грудью начнут сразу два родителя? По мнению ученых, в этом случае в два раза увеличивается риск распространения вредных микробов в популяциях. Таким образом, материнская лактация не дает распространяться вредным бактериям или, по крайней мере, снижает этот риск.
