Мифы о драконах встречаются в народном фольклоре самых разных странах. Например, в Китае вообще существует культ этому существу. Причем драконов здесь изображали на камнях еще в пятом тысячелетии до нашей эры. Также древние артефакты с изображением драконов археологи находили на территории многих других стран. Иногда драконов даже изображают на государственных символах, например, на флаге Уэльса можно увидеть красного дракона. Даже в славянских былинах и сказках часто описывается многоглавый огнедышащий дракон — Змей Горыныч. Это заставляет задуматься — нет ли в мифах доли правды? Конечно, с точки зрения исторической науки и археологии, не существует никаких свидетельств того, что когда-то на Земле жили драконы. Но, теоретически. они действительно могли существовать и даже извергать пламя. Правда, для этого им необходимо было обладать качествами сразу нескольких современных живых существ.

Какое топливо использовали драконы для пламени
Само по себе существование летающих ящеров не является чем-то удивительным. Достаточно вспомнить птерозавров. Самая же необычная особенность драконов — это способность извергать пламя. Для этого мифическое животное должно было иметь топливо и источник тепла, чтобы это топливо могло воспламеняться.
Кандидатом на горючее вещество теоретически может быть метан, который животные производят в процессе пищеварения. Другим кандидатом на топливо может быть спирт, который способен вырабатывать организм животных и человека. Например, рыбы Дьявольские дыры, обитающие в горячих источниках Невады, вырабатывают спирт в процессе дыхания. Однако хранить спирт в достаточном количестве было бы тоже проблематично, так как он быстро проходит сквозь биологические мембраны.
Учитывая все вышесказанное, оптимальным вариантом для дракона было бы некое маслянистое топливо. Например, птица глупыш вырабатывает желудочное масло, которое затем срыгивает, и кормит им своих птенцов. Возможно, драконы точно так же могли срыгивать масло, но при этом каким-то образом его поджигали.
