Как питание матери может повлиять на умственные способности ребенка
Влияние окружающей среды и питания матери на работу генов потомства было обнаружено учеными не только у людей и шелкопрядов, но и многих других животных. Это говорит о том, что данная особенность характерна для всех или, по крайней мере, большинства животных.
В недавнем исследовании сотрудники Университета Монаш нашли доказательства того, что определенное питание матери способно наделить потомство дополнительной защитой мозга. Конечно, тутовые шелкопряды — это не люди, однако у них имеется много таких же генов, как и у людей. Поэтому, теоретически, вполне можно предположить, что питание беременных женщин также способно оказывать влияние на умственные способности ребенка во взрослом возрасте и его детей.
Тутовый шелкопряд имеет много общих генов с людьми
Как сообщается в исследовании, опубликованном в журнале Nature Cell Biology, ученые кормили личинок тутового шелкопряда урсоловой кислотой, которая встречается в яблоках и травах. Такая диета обеспечивала потомство защитой от нарушения нейронных связей.
Как питание улучшает когнитивные функции потомства
Как показало дальнейшее исследование, урсоловая кислота, скорее всего, активирует ген, который отвечает за синтез определенного тип жира, известного как сфинголипид. Этот жир и обеспечивает защиту нейронов мозга. Но как этот жир оказывается в организме потомства? Он способен перемещаться из кишечника насекомого-матери в яйца в ее матке.
Авторы работы также обнаружили, что повышенный уровень этого жира вызывает у потомства метаболические изменения, которые сохраняются в период всего развития, а также передаются следующему поколению. Таким образом ученые впервые обнаружили, что сфинголипид может передаваться по наследству в пределах, как минимум, двух поколений.
Урсоловая кислота имеется в яблоках
Правда, тутовый шелкопряд (Caenorhabditis elegans) является яйцекладущим существом. Поэтому еще точно неизвестно, распространяется ли эта способность на живородящих животных. Но, в любом случае, исследование показало как эпигенетические изменения способны влиять на потомство. Ученые отмечают, что изменения, вызванные диетой матери, могут влиять на потомство как положительно, так и негативно. Ранее ученые замечали, что низкий вес ребенка при рождении, связанный с дефицитом питательных веществ у матери во время беременности, увеличить риск возникновения у потомства проблем с обменом веществ. В том числе это касается диабета второго типа а также сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний.

Это еще раз говорит о том, что женщинам во время беременности необходимо ответственно относится к образу жизни и питанию. Правда, еще неизвестно какие продукты как влияют на потомство, однако можно с уверенностью сказать, что женщина должна получать достаточное количество питательных веществ и микроэлементов.
