Исследование мумии Тутанхамона показало наличие серьезных травм
Также в ходе исследований обнаружилось, что на теле отсутствовала часть грудной клетки. Несколько ребер отсутствовали полностью. Еще одна странность заключалась в отсутствии сердца и легких в канопе (ритуальном сосуде, в который помещались органы умершего), обнаруженной рядом с мумией.
Более позднее исследование с использованием компьютерной томографии показало, что у Тутанхамона был перелом бедренной кости выше колена. Внутри перелома была обнаружена смола, которую использовали при бальзамировании. Это говорит о том, что травма была свежей, полученной перед смертью. Как поясняют исследователи, никаких признаков заживления кости они не обнаружили.
