Удивительно, что другие благородные газы, такие как аргон и криптон, присутствуют в атмосфере в том же количестве, в котором и должны в соответствии с результатами анализа метеоритов. Это значит, что по какой-то причине не стало только ксенона.
Куда исчез ксенон из атмосферы Земли
Предположения относительно исчезновения ксенона ученые выдвигали самые разные. Возможно, он скрывается в минералах, в ядре нашей планеты или даже находится в ледниках. Однако открытие, сделанное в 2018 году, говорит о том, что возможны и другие варианты его исчезновения. Как выяснилось, ксенон на самом деле не такой “благородный” газ, как предполагалось ранее. При высоком давлении он все же может образовывать соединения с другими элементами.
В ходе исследования ученые доказали существование соединений железа и ксенона, о которых ранее только догадывались. Правда, для этого должны быть такие же условия, которые имеются в ядре нашей планеты. При этом маловероятно, что такие соединения возникли на этапе зарождения нашей планеты, когда ядро только формировалось, так как тогда не было такого большого давления, как сейчас.
