Артефакты первых людей в Китае
Участок Шию на северо-востоке Китая уже несколько десятилетий известен как археологический памятник, то есть место, которое имеет важное археологическое значение. Причина в том, что это место длительное время было заселено людьми. Осадочная толща стоянки имеет глубину около 30 метров. Слои здесь отлагались в течение десятков тысячелетий.
Первые раскопки на участке Шию начались еще в начале 60-х годов. В отложениях археологи нашли 15 тысяч инструментов и других артефактов, изготовленных людьми, а также тысячи фрагментов костей и зубов. При этом была обнаружена только одна единственная окаменелость части черепа, принадлежащая Homo sapiens.

К сожалению, большая часть коллекции, включая часть черепа человека, была утрачена. Поэтому в 2013 году международная междисциплинарная группа ученых предприняла еще одну попытку раскопок. Причем работы на территории древней стоянки ведутся по сей день. На этот раз такого огромного количества артефактов найти не удалось, однако все равно ученые нашли немало каменных инструментов, костей животных и других артефактов.
Когда первые люди поселились на северо-востоке Китая
Авторы недавнего исследования выбрали большое количество артефактов и тщательно их изучили. В частности, они провели новый анализ датировки. Для этого использовали как радиоуглеродные методы, так и методы оптически стимулированной люминесценции (ОСЛ), чтобы точно определить дату образцов, обнаруженных на разных участках отложений.

Каменные орудия со следами обработки и повреждений
Исследование показало, что возраст самого древнего слоя отложений составляет 45 тысяч лет. При этом анализ артефактов показал множество технологических навыков, таких как леваллуазийская техника раскалывания камня, которая использовалась в Европе около 250 тысяч лет назад. Об этом исследователи сообщают в журнале Nature Ecology & Evolution.
Артефакты первых людей в из Восточной Азии
Среди артефактов, которые обнаружили археологи, было много наконечников со следами ударных повреждений. Самое интересное, что изделия выполнены из обсидиана, которого нет в окрестностях стоянки. Он был доставлен как минимум за 800-1000 километров. Это говорит о возможной торговле или путешествиях людей на большие расстояния. Вполне возможно, что имело место одновременно и то и другое.
Среди других интересных артефактов — обработанный костяной инструмент и графитовый диск с отверстием в центре. Назначение этого диска пока остается загадкой. Некоторые исследователи предположили, что это была большая пуговица.
