В эксперименте приняли участие 44 щенка и 28 волчат. Эксперимент показал, что собаки находят еду при помощи подсказок в два раза чаще, чем их собратья-волки. Это говорит о том, что собаки обладают некоторыми врожденными способностями, которые позволяют им лучше понимать жесты людей. Это вполне ожидаемый результат, так как собаки живут бок о бок с человеком тысячи лет. Напомним, что за это время собаки даже научились отличать случайные действия людей в отношении собак от намеренных.
Волки умнее чем собаки
Вышеупомянутое исследование вовсе не говорит о том, что собаки умнее волков. Они лишь лучше умеют понимать людей. Более того, одно из исследований, проведенное в 2017 году, показало, что волки лучше понимают причину и следствие, чем собаки.
В ходе эксперимента ученые встряхивали чашку с едой, в результате чего ее опознавали и собаки и волки. Но, когда авторы работы встряхнули пустую чашку, собаки все равно подошли к ней, а волки остались на месте, так как догадались, что еды в ней нет.

Волки лучше понимают причинно-следственную связь, чем собаки
С чем связаны такие результаты, догадаться тоже не сложно. Волкам приходится жить в дикой природе и самостоятельно добывать себе еду. То есть они сами несут ответственность за собственное питание и выживание. Поэтому им необходимо быть сообразительными и понимать причинно-следственные связи.
Надо сказать, что это далеко не единственный эксперимент, в котором волки в чем-то превосходят собак. Как сообщают сотрудники Центра науки о волках в Вене, они провели множество других тестов для оценки способностей у собак и волков. Во всех тестах волки превосходят собак в тестах, связанные со взаимоотношениях друг с другом. Но зато собаки лучше справлялись с задачами, связанными со взаимодействием с людьми.
По словам ученых, перед собаками стоит совсем другая задача. Они больше не зависят от взаимодействия друг с другом. Им гораздо важнее понимать человека. Поэтому они и превосходят в этом своих собратьев.
