Служба по изменению климата «Коперник» (C3S), которая является частью космической программы Европейского Союза, несколько дней назад заявила, что осень нынешнего года стала самой теплой за всю историю наблюдений, которые начались в 1940 году. Рекорд установлен с отрывом 0,32 градуса по Цельсию.
До этого люди пережили самое жаркое лето за всю историю наблюдений. При этом было установлено сразу несколько температурных рекордов, таких как самый теплый день и самая жаркая ночь. Причем самых жарких дней было сразу несколько. В общей сложности, по данным C3S, в 2023 году было сразу шесть месяцев, которые побили рекорды глобальной температуры. По этой причине уровень льда в Антарктиде также побил антирекорд за всю историю наблюдений.

C3S сообщает, что нынешнем году температура была на 1,46 градуса выше, чем в доиндустриальный период, и на 0,13 градуса выше, чем в 2016 году, который до последнего момента считался самым жарким. Таким образом, уже сейчас можно говорить, что 2023 год установил очередной рекорд.
Но с чем связана высокая температура? Ранее мы уже рассказывали, что в этом году возникло явление Эль-Ниньо, в результате которого теплая вода в океане возле экватора влияет на глобальные температуры воздуха. Эль-Ниньо началось в июне, и с тех пор температура стала устанавливать рекорды. По мнению экспертов, это явление продлится и в следующем году, а значит 2024 год тоже может стать аномально жарким.
Но, еще до установления Эль-Ниньо ученые зафиксировали аномально высокую температуру воды в океане весной нынешнего года. По этой причине даже возникло предположение о том, что океан уже получил такое количество солнечной энергии, что больше не сможет стабилизировать температуру на планете.
