Как пессимизм связан с умственными способностями
Недавнее исследование провел Крис Доусон, экономист из Университета Бата. Он изучил ожидания относительно финансового благополучия более 36 тысяч человек в Великобритании, и сравнил их с реальной ситуацией, то есть с тем, как изменилась их финансовая ситуация в итоге. Таким образом он выяснил насколько прогнозы были оптимистичными или пессимистичными.
Затем исследователь сравнил полученные результаты с умственными способностями людей. При этом были учтены такие факторы, как возраст человека, пол, семейное положение, размер домохозяйства и пр. В результаты была обнаружена связь между когнитивными способностями и тем, насколько оптимистичны или пессимистичны люди.
Те, кто набрал наивысшие оценки умственных способностей, на 38,4% реже имели оптимистическое мышление и на 53,2% чаще были пессимистами, по сравнению с теми, кто получили низкие оценки. Кроме того, как сообщается в исследовании, люди, получившие высокие оценки за тесты на умственные способности, на 22% чаще были реалистами.
