Оно начинается с темени и лба, и в подавляющем большинстве случаев касается мужчин, хотя иногда лысеют и женщины, но это случается очень редко. Можно предположить, что причина в отсутствии естественной защиты от солнца — ультрафиолет воздействует непосредственно на кожу головы. С одной стороны так и есть, но причина не только в этом, так как у подстриженных налысо людей риск заболевания все равно ниже. Чаще всего раком кожи заболевают в солнечной Австралии. Здесь это заболевание выявляется каждые 30 минут у одного человека. Причем чаще всего рак кожи возникает на голове и шее. Это говорит о том, что мужчинам с лысиной необходимо защищать голову и шею от солнечного излучения.
К примеру, можно носить головной убор или использовать специальные защитные средства от ультрафиолета. Это единственная наиболее эффективная профилактическая мера против меланомы и других видов рака кожи.
