Во время запланированной охоты они медленно плавают в воде оставив на поверхности только ноздри и глаза, а потом резко выпрыгивают и разрывают жертву на части.
В Африке многие нападения нильских крокодилов на людей не фиксируются, поэтому официальной статистики не существует. Но считает, что ежегодно от их нападений умирают сотни или даже тысячи людей. Как крокодилы находят жертв

На сильный стресс детей крокодилы реагировали сильнее всего — некоторые из них даже выходили из воды и нападали на воспроизводящие звуки динамики. Крокодилы считали за сильный стресс не высоту тона детских криков, а наличие в их голосе дрожи и других искажений. В этом плане они оказались разборчивее людей. Дело в том, что чем выше тоном кричит ребенок, тем более сильным люди считают его стресс. Хотя на самом деле искажения в голосе указывают на сильный стресс сильнее.
Дети для нильских крокодилов — самая легкая добыча
Ученые уже знают, почему крокодилы так сильно реагируют на детский плач. Бегемоты, носороги и буйволы являются для них отличной добычей, однако иногда им хочется перекусить чем-нибудь легкодоступным.
