В ходе индийской миссии “Чандраян-3” аппаратура посадочного модуля “Викрам” зафиксировала на Луне нечто необычное, а именно — сильные вибрации. Данные указывают на сейсмическую активность спутника. Если эта информация подтвердится, то индийский аппарат зафиксировал сейсмическую активность впервые за более чем 50 лет. Последний раз землетрясения на поверхности спутника были замечены в ходе миссии НАСА “Аполлон”, однако оборудование тогда было не таким чувствительным и точным. Поэтому благодаря новым данным ученые, возможно, смогут более точно выяснить какую структуру имеет Луна, какой ее состав, как она сформировалась и т.д.

Как индийский аппарат зафиксировал вибрации на Луне
Для фиксации сейсмической активности (ILSA), индийский посадочный модуль “Викрам” оснащен прибором, основанным на технологии микроэлектромеханических систем (МЭМС), то есть объединяющий в себе микроэлектронные и микромеханические компоненты, которые позволяют обнаруживать вибрации. Пожалуй, самым известным примером микроэлектромеханической системы, служит акселерометр в различных гаджетах. К слову, на Луне впервые в истории был использован подобный прибор в исследовательских целях.
Как сообщает индийское космическое агентство, задача данного прибора заключается в обнаружении вибраций, вызванных естественными лунотрясениями, ударами и различными искусственными событиями. Аппаратура настолько чувствительная, что даже смогла зафиксировать вибрацию, возникшую в результате движения лунохода “Прагян” по поверхности Луны. Вместе с тем он также обнаружила вибрации, которые не были связаны с Луноходом.

Необычное событие датчику удалось зафиксировать 26 августа. Правда, источник вибраций доподлинно пока неизвестен, поэтому ученые уточняют информацию. Но, согласно предварительным данным, вибрация связана именно с сейсмической активностью, а не, например, падением на поверхность Луны метеорита. Напомним, что ранее естественный спутник Земли проявлял не только сейсмическую, но и вулканическую активность, но по мере остывания она ослаблялась.
Что известно о сейсмической активности Луны
Как мы уже сказали, сейсмическая активность Луны не стала для ученых неожиданностью. Впервые она была зафиксирована на поверхности спутника Земли во время миссий “Аполлон”. С того момента, как эта программа НАСА была свернута, изучение естественных вибраций Луны по понятным причинам прекратились. Несмотря на то, что оборудование в конце 60-х — начале 70-х годов было гораздо менее точным и чувствительным, чем современное, полученные данные по сей день используются исследователями для изучения структуры спутника.

В частности, эти данные позволили ученым обнаружить, что Луна имеет такое же ядро, как и Земля. Однако строение спутника по сей день во многом остается загадкой. Поэтому новые сейсмические данные имеют большое значение в изучении Луны.
Почему для науки ценны лунотрясения
Напомним, что ученые изучают недра по тому, как в них распространяются сейсмические волны. Для каждого материала характерны определенные характеристики волны. Фиксируя эти волны и то, как они изменяются, ученые определяют сквозь какой материал они прошли. Таким же образом изучается структура Земли и Марса.
Индийский луноход, возможно, продолжит свою миссию с приходом лунного дня
Напомним, что миссия “Чандраян-3”, фактически, завершилась. Луноход и посадочный модуль в настоящее время находятся в спящем состоянии, так как на Луне началась ночь. Связано это с тем, что аппараты работают на солнечной энергии. Однако, не исключено, что с приходом дня луноход и посадочный модуль смогут проснуться. В таком случае изучение Луны продолжится еще на 14 дней.

Ранее мы рассказывали, что индийский Луноход обнаружил вещество, которое поможет в строительстве Лунных баз. Единственное, ему не удалось обнаружить самое важное вещество, которое ученые надеялись найти на Луне, а именно — водород. Он мог бы обеспечить будущие лунные миссии водой и топливом для ракет. Но, не исключено, что луноход продолжит поиски водорода с приходом лунного дня.
