Человек разумный возник примерно 300 тысяч лет назад на африканском континенте. То есть, если бы мы могли проследить всю свою родословную, нашли бы свои корни обязательно в Африке. Нашим прямым предком является Homo erectus, который жил на трех континентах: в Африке, Европе и Азии, как и его потомок H. heidelbergensis. От последнего произошло сразу три вида гоминидов в разных частях света — неандертальцы появились в Евразии, Денисовцы — в Азии и человек разумный — в Африке. Как возник Хомо Сапиенс в Африке
Чтобы выяснить, почему люди появились именно в Африке, необходимо выяснить как это вообще произошло. К сожалению, на многие вопросы на этот счет ученые все еще не могут дать ответы. Согласно исследованию, которое было проведено еще в 80-х годах, митохондриальная ДНК Homo Sapiens восходит к одной популяции в Африке, жившей в период между 200 000 и 150 000 лет назад. То есть, согласно этому исследованию, предками современных людей была только одна популяция.
Митохондриальная ДНК — вид ДНК, который передается только по материнской линии и помогает отслеживать происхождение.
Однако не все ученые согласны с этой версией. На заре появления Хомо Сапиенс существовали десятки популяций, которые жили в разных частях Африки, поэтому им приходилось приспосабливаться к разным экосистемам и условиям окружающей среды. Как мы уже рассказывали ранее, недавнее исследование показало, что как минимум две популяции были предками H. sapiens. Причем люди из этих популяций жили отдельно друг от друга в течение тысячелетий. Бренна Хенн, сотрудница Калифорнийского университета, один из авторов исследования 2023 года, предполагает, что именно особенности континента стали причиной появления Хомо Сапиенс. Так как Африка очень большая, и как уже было сказано выше, содержит множество различных экосистем, возникло множество популяций, каждая из которых была приспособлена к тем или иным условиям. Проще говоря, на континенте возникло генетическое разнообразие. Смешение большого количества популяций в итоге позволило нашим предкам эволюционировать, в результате чего возник современный человек.
Кертис Мареан, профессор палеоантропологии, заместитель директора Института происхождения человека при Университете штата Аризона, считает, что обе версии имеют право на существование, то есть как происхождение человека от одной популяции, так и от множества популяций. Причем последняя версия по его мнению выглядит более реалистичной. Ведь чем больше у вида генетических вариаций, тем выше вероятность его развития.
