Несмотря на свое название, плодовая мушка питается разлагающейся пищей. Насекомое появляется на продуктах именно тогда, когда они начинают портиться, то есть возникает процесс брожения или гниения. Разумеется, мошки берутся не из воздуха, а появляются из заранее отложенных яиц, которые при определенных условиях начинают активизироваться.
Не секрет, что мухи дрозофилы часто поселяются в мусорных баках, компостных кучах, канализациях и везде, где есть гниющая пища. Как не сложно догадаться, места их обитания кишат различными микробами, среди которых кишечная палочка, листерия, сальмонелла и даже холера. Теоретически муха может перенести на своем теле любую потенциально опасную бактерию или грибок. Но значит ли это, что продукт, на котором сидела муха дрозофила, нужно выбрасывать, а всю кухонную посуду перемывать?

К счастью, дрозофилы не являются переносчиками опасных заболеваний. Более того, некоторые исследования показали, что у них имеется устойчивость к опасным для людей бактериям и грибкам. Результаты одного из таких исследований, которое было проведено сотрудниками Мэрилендского университета, было опубликовано в журнале PLOS Pathogens.
Правда, как сообщает журнал Science Alert, плодовая мушка на своем теле все же может перенести некоторых микробов. Однако они вряд ли причинят вред организму, так как их встретит иммунная система, кислая среда в желудке, а также ряд других “барьеров”. Попав в организм в небольшом количестве, пережить все эти препятствия они не смогут.
Можно ли есть продукты после дрозофил? Все зависит от ситуации. Если муха попала в бокал вина, то в этом ничего страшного нет — можно ее достать и выпить напиток. К слову, вино само по себе обладает дезинфицирующим свойством. Если же мошки завелись на каком-либо продукте, то вряд ли его стоит употреблять по разным причинам. В первую очередь, напомним, что дрозофилы появляются на продуктах, которые начинают гнить и бродить. Правда в некоторых случаях можно просто срезать ту часть, где сидели дрозофилы, к примеру, если речь идет об арбузе, который жалко выбрасывать.

Несмотря на то, что дрозофилы не являются переносчиками таких опасных бактерий, как, например, холера, их все же нельзя назвать полностью безобидными. Они способны заражать и портить продукты, так как откладывают на них яйца. Как мы сказали выше, яйца активизируются не сразу, а при определенных условиях, когда продукты начинают пропадать.
Кроме того, в случае попадания личинок мухи в кишечник, они могут вызвать кишечный миаз. Заражение пищеварительного тракта личинками сопровождается такими симптомами как диарея, тошнота рвота и пр. Риску получить кишечный миаз больше всего подвержены люди с пониженной кислотностью желудка. Правда, в большинстве случаев личинки выводятся наружу при рвоте или с экскрементами спустя несколько дней после заражения.
Людей с пониженной кислотностью дрозофилы могут заразить и опасными бактериями. Также они могут быть переносчиками некоторых видов гельминтов. Некоторые специалисты утверждают, что дрозофилы являются потенциальными переносчиками опасных бактерий, которые не поддаются лечению даже антибиотиков. Однако риск заразиться этими бактериями очень низкий, поэтому вряд ли фруктовые мошки представляют серьезную угрозу для здоровья.
Личинки дрозофил могут вызвать заболевание кишечника
Но, в любом случае, появления плодовых мушек дома следует избегать. Для этого нужно лишь своевременно выбрасывать мусор и не оставлять на длительное время открытыми продукты, особенно это касается овощей, фруктов и напитков.
