Зачем на Луне «маяки» с прожекторами
Луна, скорее всего, в ближайшем будущем станет первой строительной зоной человечества за пределами Земли. Главная цель такого строительства заключается в создании постоянных поселений людей. Это не значит, что люди смогут жить на поверхности спутника так же, как на Земле, но, по крайней мере, будут там постоянно находиться, как, например, на МКС. Напомним, что первый проект строительства обитаемой базы появился в СССР еще во времена первой лунной гонки, но ему не суждено было сбыться. Но, прежде чем первые астронавты смогу задержаться на Луне, необходимо подготовить определенную инфраструктуру. Главная проблема заключается в длинных и морозных лунных ночах, которые длятся две земные недели. Многие посадочные модули, которые питаются энергией Солнца, не смогли пережить эти ночи. Например, после лунной ночи не смог «проснуться» индийский аппарат Чандраян-3. Но еще большую опасность лунные ночи будут представлять для людей-исследователей.

Чтобы решить эту проблему, компания Honeybee Robotics (часть Blue Origin Джеффа Безоса) работает над проектом по установке на Луне огромных «уличных маяков», оснащенных солнечными батареями. Это может показаться очередной безумной и неосуществимой идеей, однако проект Lunar Utility Navigation with Advanced Remote Sensing and Autonomous Beaming for Energy Redistribution, или сокращенно LUNARSABER, финансируется Агентством перспективных исследовательских проектов Министерства обороны США, который известен как DARPA. По мнению ученых, данный проект даст толчок новой эре исследований Луны.
Какими будут лунные фонари
Как сообщает сама компания Honeybee Robotics, каждый фонарь LUNARSABER будет намного выше, чем те фонари, которые устанавливают на улицах вдоль дорог. Согласно проекту, их высота будет составлять около 100 метров, то есть они выше Статуи Свободы, высота которой составляет всего 93 метра, и выше Троицкой башни Кремля, высота которой составляет 80 метров.
Задача массивных световых состоит в том, чтобы накапливать солнечную энергию в течение лунного дня. Затем, с наступлением лунной ночи, они будут освещать окрестность мощными прожекторами.

Зачем нужны такие высокие башни? Чем выше будут расположены прожекторы, тем более обширную территорию они смогут освещать. Но причина не только в этом. Исследователи хотят использовать башни для установки на них научного оборудования, такого как устройства связи, камеры для наблюдения за кратерами и т.д.
Если ученым удастся установить несколько башен в разных частях Луны, LUNARSABER станут первой энергетической лунной сетью, а также первым «уличным» лунным освещением.
Также сообщается, что башни будут служить зарядными станциями для луноходов. Для этого в их основании будут предусмотрены адаптеры питания. Также от башен можно будет подзарядить другую лунную инфраструктуру. Соответственно, они решат озвученную выше проблему — посадочные модули смогут работать на Луне гораздо дольше, чем один лунный день. Соответственно, ученые смогут проводить на поверхности Луны гораздо больше исследований, так как не будут ограничены одним световым лунным днем.

Как установят на Луне гигантские башни
Установка 100-метровых башен на Луне вместе с научным оборудованием — задача не из простых. Однако инженеры Honeybee уже придумали как ее решить — они создадут автоматизированную систему, при помощи которой каждая башня LUNARSABER сможет подниматься из собственного основания, подобно складному туристическому стаканчику. Поэтому космическому кораблю нужно будет доставить на Луну только основание, внутри которого “упакована” система саморазвертывания.
Конечно, проект находится еще только на ранних стадия разработки. Однако он был выбран DARPA как один из дюжины, над которыми будет вестись работа последующие 10 лет в рамках более масштабного проекта DARPA — «LunA-10». Скорее всего, в ближайшие десятилетия нас действительно ждет новая эра по освоению Луны, если, конечно, ученым удастся реализовать такие проекты, как LUNARSABER.
