Температура человеческого тела может изменяться в течение дня, а также от человека к человеку. Считается даже, что еще 150-200 лет назад температура тела людей была выше, чем сейчас. Однако эти колебания незначительные — температура обычно находится в пределах 37 градусов. В таких условиях наши клетки работают наиболее эффективно, а значит эта температура является для нас наиболее комфортной.
За поддержание “комфортной” температуры в организме отвечает гипоталамус. Он работает как термостат — постоянно отслеживает температуру, и в соответствии с этом задействует механизмы, которые ее уменьшают или повышают. Но так происходит только в здоровом организме, то есть не зараженном инфекцией.
Если же иммунные клетки обнаруживают инфекцию, они выделяют определенные химические вещества, именуемые пирогенами. Вместе с кровью пирогены попадают в мозг, где воздействуют на нейроны гипоталамуса, которые отвечают за повышение температуры. То есть, фактически, химические вещества иммунных клеток дают мозгу сигнал о том, что температуру тела необходимо повысить.

Температуру тела регулирует гипоталамус
Нейроны в свою очередь выделяют гормоноподобные вещества, которые называются простагландинами, такими как PGE2. Именно эти вещества влияют на наш внутренний “термостат”, в результате чего температура тела повышается, что, соответственно, приводит к лихорадке.
Почему возникает лихорадка
Гипоталамус использует разные механизмы, чтобы повысить температуру тела. Например, он заставляет сужаться кровеносные сосуды, в результате чего через поверхность кожи рассеивается меньше тепла. Также может возникать дрожь, чтобы организм генерировал как можно больше тепла.
Часто во время температуры человек испытывает озноб. То есть, как уже было сказано выше, возникает ощущение холода, несмотря на то, что температура тела повышена. Фактически, это происходит из-за того, что внутренний “термостат” повышает “нормальный” уровень температуры тела. Поэтому, пока организм не достигнет этого уровня, человек чувствует холод. Иногда озноб может быть настолько сильным, что при комнатной температуре в помещении человек испытывает сильный холод даже лежа под несколькими одеялами.
