При заражении ленточными червями многие организмы испытывают проблемы с аппетитом, теряют вес и ощущают боль в области живота. Недавно ученые нашли доказательства того, что вызываемые ленточными червями болезни существуют уже несколько миллионов лет — ими заражались даже динозавры. Эволюция червей-паразитов
Доказательством того, что ленточные черви вызывали страдания даже у настолько древних существ, как динозавры, поделились авторы научного издания IFL Science. По их словам, до сих пор ученым не удавалось найти ни одного следа их существования миллионы лет назад. Только однажды палеонтологи обнаружили признаки наличия их яиц в акульих фекалиях пермского периода. Но наличие только одного такого доказательства не давало ученым возможности с уверенностью говорить, что ленточные черви заражали животных с доисторических времен.
Пермский период — это часть истории Земли, которая началась 298 миллионов лет назад и закончилась около 252 миллионов лет назад. В те времена на планете существовал только один континент — Пангея, который населяли предки динозавров.

Ученые не могут найти ископаемые останки ленточных червей по двум причинам. Во-первых, их тела состоят исключительно из мягких тканей, которые максимально быстро разлагаются в естественной среде. Во-вторых, все они ведут паразитический образ жизни, то есть живут и умирают внутри других организмов. По словам одного из авторов новой научной работы Бо Ванга, эти два фактора сильно усложняют изучение эволюции ленточных червей.

Окаменелые останки древнего ленточного червя
Недавно в научном журнале Geology была опубликована статья о том, что ученым впервые удалось найти останки ленточного червя. Если учесть все написанное выше, это уникальное научное открытие.
Удивительным образом часть древнего ленточного червя сохранилась внутри янтаря, найденного на севере Мьянмы. Янтарем называется древняя смола деревьев, которая за миллионы лет успела превратиться в камень.

Внутри янтаря часто находят древних насекомых и даже более маленьких существ — они попадают внутрь жидкой смолы и сохраняются внутри нее на протяжении миллионов лет. Особенно много янтаря ученые находят в Мьянме (Юго-Восточная Азия), потому что когда-то давно там произрастало много деревьев, выделявших смолу.

Паразиты динозавров и древних рыб
Древний ленточный червь очень похож на тех, которые существуют сегодня и заражают рыб вроде скатов и акул. Вероятно, миллионы лет назад эта крошечная особь паразитировала внутри одного из обитателей мирового океана. Но возникает вопрос: как он оказался внутри древесной смолы?
Точного ответа на этот вопрос нет, но есть правдоподобное предположение. Так как фрагмент смолы с телом ленточного червя был найден в прибрежной зоне, возможно, зараженная рыба была выброшена на берег. Потом животное могло стать едой для хищного падальщика — например, одного из многочисленных динозавров. Он мог распотрошить рыбу, и червь оказался внутри жидкой смолы.
