Как ученые “читают мысли” при помощи ИИ
Еще совсем недавно “чтение мыслей” человека или, например, животного, было чем-то из области фантастики. Однако в настоящее время это не такая уж сложная задача — некоторые технологии даже позволяют переводить мысли в текст. Важно только знать какую информацию воспроизводят те или иные участки, или даже нейроны мозга. В таком случае, отслеживая активность мозга, можно понять, о чем человек думает либо даже что ему снится в тот или иной момент. Например, еще в 2021 году ученые таким образом выяснили, почему плохие воспоминания забываются, а хорошие — остаются в памяти.
Точно такой же принцип использовали и сотрудники Мичиганского университета в недавнем исследовании, однако помимо всего прочего задействовали в своей работе искусственный интеллект. Они сконцентрировали свое внимание на гиппокампе, то есть участке мозга, который отвечает за память, накопленный в течение жизни опыт и навыки.
Как уже было сказано выше, исследование проводилось на крысах. Вначале авторы работы зафиксировали показания мозговых волн грызунов до начала эксперимента, а затем, наблюдали за мозговыми волнами во время выполнения различных задач в лабиринте, при которых у крыс активно работало пространственное мышление.

Ученые просканировали мозг крыс, чтобы определить что им снится
Затем искусственный интеллект сопоставил активность каждого отдельно взятого нейрона с активностью других нейронов. То есть рассматривалась активность нейронов не изолированно друг от друга, а в связке с остальными нейронами. Это позволило ученым максимально точно определить в каких точках лабиринта, какие нейроны у крыс были активны. Более того, по активности отдельных нейронов ученые смогли определять, о каких точках лабиринта думает крыса.
Мозг во сне прогнозирует будущее
Во второй части эксперимента ученые смогли определить, что снится крысам. Как и предполагалось, им снился лабиринт, в котором они продолжали выполнять задачи. Но учитывая то, как нейроны активировались, ученые обнаружили, что грызуны не только вспоминали пережитые события, но и прорабатывали потенциальные новые маршруты. Впоследствии они использовали эти маршруты в реальной жизни, когда опять попали в лабиринт.

То есть нейронная активность крыс во сне частично предсказывала их поведение в реальности. Правда, совпадения были не идеально точными. Однако их было достаточно для того, чтобы можно было говорить о связи между сном и будущими намерениями животных. Правда, эта взаимосвязь не прослеживалась на более поздних стадиях сна. Об этом исследователи сообщают в журнале Nature.
К сожалению, неизвестно, помнили ли крысы то, что им приснилось и действовали осознанно, или опыт, полученный во сне, каким-то образом влиял на их поведение на уровне подсознания. Можно предположить, что действия крыс во сне вообще не влияло на поведения в реальном лабиринте. Просто мозг грызунов в одинаковых ситуациях принимал практически одинаковые решения.
