Испарение океанов может привести к необратимым последствиям на Земле
По мере испарения океанов возникает критический момент, после которого планета не может больше остывать. Ранее все исследования были направлены на изучение процессов, которые могут происходить на Земле до наступления критического момента. Нынешнее же моделирование показало все процессы от начала и до конца, то есть даже после того, как наступит момент невозврата и все океаны на планете испарятся.
Когда Земля начнет превращаться в безжизненную планету
Как показало исследование, опубликованное в журнале Astronomy and Astrophysics, нашей планете достаточно нагреться всего на несколько десятков градусов, после чего начнется стремительное потепление, которое превратит Землю в Венеру. Чтобы это произошло, достаточно лишь незначительного повышения интенсивности солнечного излучения.
Необратимые процессы начнутся, когда испарится 10 метров поверхности океанов. Это приведет к повышению атмосферного давления на уровне моря на 1 бар. По мере повышения температуры, возникнут плотные облака в верхних слоях атмосферы. Всего через несколько сотен лет после этого температура на планете превысит свыше 500°C. Постепенно давление на поверхности планеты достигнет 273 бар, а температура превысит 1500°C. Это произойдет, когда все океаны испарятся окончательно.

Однако пока неизвестно, возможен ли такой сценарий без повышения интенсивности солнечного излучения, а исключительно за счет увеличения концентрации парниковых газов в атмосфере, то есть при тех процессах, которые происходят в настоящее время. Если это возможно, то какой будет пороговая температура?
Ученые в настоящее время занимаются поиском ответов на эти вопросы. Однако, теоретически, при повышении температуры на 1,5-2 градуса по сравнению с доиндустриальным периодом, это все же возможно, о чем сообщается в заявлении авторов работы.
