Созданный учеными инструмент позволяет с высокой точностью моделировать ядерный взрыв на астероидах
Как сообщают авторы работы, разработанный ими инструмент улучшает понимание не только того, как излучение ядерного взрыва взаимодействует с поверхностью астероида, но и показывает динамику ударной волны, которая может повлиять на внутреннюю часть объекта.
Модель даже способна показать, как фотоны проникают сквозь поверхности астероидоподобных материалов. Об этом сообщается в издании The Planetary Science Journal. Причем модель может выполнять расчеты с различными астероидными материалами. Поэтому она применима к широкому спектру возможных сценариев, связанных с угрозой, исходящей от астероидов.

При создании модели, ученые использовали многие данные, полученные во время миссии DART. Напомним, что задача миссии состояла в том, чтобы изменить траекторию полета астероида путем кинетического воздействия.
