Если все пройдет успешно, во время пятого испытания корабля Starship компания попытается поймать ракету-носитель при помощи роботизированной башни «Мехазилла». Об особенностях работы этой конструкции ранее мы рассказывали в этой статье. По мнению Илона Маска, вероятность успешного спуска ракеты-носителя на манипулятор в 2024 году составляет 90%.

Как люди полетят на Марс
Вдобавок ко всему этому миллиардер рассказал о более дальних планах компании. На сегодняшний день SpaceX испытывает прототип корабля Starship. В будущем во время миссий будут использоваться модели Starship 2 и Starship 3, способные поднимать по 100 и 200 тонн соответственно. Стоимость запуска корабля Starship 3 может снизиться до 3 миллионов долларов, хотя обычно на это требуется минимум 10 миллионов долларов. Финальные версии ракет будут многоразовыми, но когда именно они появятся, Илон Маск не уточнил.
