Алкоголь влияет на метаболизм
Авторы недавнего исследования использовали необычный подход к оценке влияния алкоголя на организм. Они искали связь между метаболитами в крови у принимающих алкоголь людей и риском сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний. Метаболитами называются молекулы, которые образуются в результате определенных физиологических и биохимических процессов.
К таким молекулам (метаболитам) относятся жирные кислоты, холестерин, аминокислоты, углеводы и некоторые другие соединения. Метаболиты не попадают в организм с алкоголем, однако алкогольные напитки влияют на метаболизм, в результате чего в крови меняется соотношение метаболитов. То есть одних соединений становится больше, а других — меньше.
Для своего исследования ученые использовали медицинские данные почти двух с половиной тысяч человек — мужчин и женщин, возраст которых составлял 50-60 лет. При этом было известно как часто и в каком количестве они потребляли алкоголь в течение жизни. В последние 20 лет у этих людей не было проблем с сердечно-сосудистой системой, однако на момент исследования более чем у 600 человек возникли те или иные сердечные заболевания.

Из 211 метаболитов авторы работы выделили 60 в плазме крови, уровень которых изменился в результате употребления алкогольных напитков. При этом были учтены другие факторы, которые тоже могли повлиять на эти молекулы.
В исследовании говорится, что соотношением метаболитов менялось по-разному, причем зависело это от типа спиртных напитков, которые пили люди. Однако у всех людей, потреблявших алкоголь баланс метаболитов изменялся по сравнению с совсем непьющими людьми.
Как алкоголь влияет на сердце
Как сообщается в исследовании, опубликованном в журнале BMC Medicine, меньше всего на соединения влияло пиво. Вино и крепкие напитки изменяли метаболиты гораздо сильнее. Однако у всех напитков, включая пиво, был свой набор молекул, на которые они влияли.

Авторы исследования сравнили изменения в метаболитах после приема алкоголя, с изменениями, которые происходят при серьезных сердечно-сосудистых заболеваниях, таких как инфаркт миокарда, инсульт, коронарная болезнь сердца, а также сердечная недостаточность.
Как выяснилось, существует 6 молекул, количество которых растет как при употреблении алкоголя, так и при заболеваниях. Кроме того, было обнаружено 3 молекулы, количество которых уменьшается при потреблении алкоголя, но увеличивается при сердечно-сосудистых заболеваниях. Таким образом, данное исследование тоже не позволяет сделать однозначных выводов.
Прежде всего отметим, что исследование ничего не говорит о причинно-следственных связях. То есть неизвестно, влияет ли вообще изменение метаболитов на здоровье сердца, или наоборот, здоровье сердца влияет на метаболиты. Также можно предположить, что изменения в метаболитах, связанные с алкоголем, не имеют отношения к сердечно-сосудистым заболеваниям.
