Рациональный инженер списал рассказ женщины на кошек, которые жили в офисе компании. Однако странные события в лаборатории продолжали происходить. Причем они касались не только появления призраков.
У работников компании в лаборатории возникала депрессия и необъяснимая дрожь. Более того, странные явления стали замечать и сами ученые. К примеру, один из них рассказал, что в какой-то ммоент чувствовал возле себя присутствие Вика Тэнди. В какой-то момент слева от него появилась фигура серого цвета. Она, по словам ученого, двигалась как человек.
Несложно догадаться, что в такой момент любой человек испытает страх, в том числе и абсолютно рациональный ученый, который не верит в призраков. Однако Вик Тэнди набрался храбрости и резко повернулся к фигуре. В этот момент она сразу же исчезла.
Есть ли рациональное объяснение призракам?
Как сообщается в отчете, Вик Тэнди в первую очередь проверил нет ли утечки в баллонах с кислородом и углекислым газом, но ничего подобного не обнаружил. На следующий день, когда он работал в лаборатории над одним из своих проектов, зажал нож в тисках. В какой-то момент он отошел за маслом для работы, но когда вернулся, обнаружил, что лезвие сильно вибрирует. Это его еще раз сильно напугало.

Ученые испытывали неприятные ощущения в лаборатории и видели силуэты людей
Однако вибрирующий металл инженеру был гораздо больше знаком, чем призраки. Поэтому он решил провести эксперимент. Вибрацию лезвия вызывала энергия, интенсивность которой менялась со скоростью, равной резонансной частоте лезвия.
Исследователь начал перемещать нож с тисками по лаборатории, чтобы обнаружить место, где вибрации наиболее сильные. Эксперимент показал, что сильнее всего лезвие вибрировала в центре комнаты. Тогда он догадался, что в помещении что-то создавало инфразвук, то есть звуковую низкочастотную волну, которую не может зафиксировать человеческий слух.
Расспросив работников компании, ему удалось выяснить, что инфразвук издавал вытяжной вентилятор. Когда его выключили, низкочастотный шум и вызванные им вибрации прекратились.
