Одинаковые снаряды для пращи говорят о массовом стандартизированном производстве, существовавшем 7200 лет назад
Праща — самое древнее серийное оружие
Археологи исследовали 424 камня для пращи, обнаруженные в поселениях Эн-Эсур и Эн-Зиппори, которые образовались в период между 5800 и 4500 годами до нашей эры. То есть камни старше даже каменных шаров, обнаруженных на греческих островах.
Напомним, что праща представляет собой примитивное древнее оружие для метания камней или специально изготовленных снарядов. Наиболее распространенной была веревочная и ременная праща. Она имела в центре расширенную часть, в которую вкладывался один или несколько снарядов. Один конец имел петлю, которая одевалась на кисть. Свободный конец веревки обычно придерживался той же рукой.
Пращник раскручивал прощу в горизонтальной плоскости, как правило, над головой. В момент самого сильного маха, когда скорость вращения была наиболее высокой, праща выпускалась из рук. Это позволяло запустить снаряд с большой скоростью.

Все обнаруженные камни выглядели практически одинаково. Они были изготовлены в соответствии с определенными спецификациями. Средняя длина снаряда составляла около 52 миллиметров, ширина не превышала 31 миллиметр, а вес был равен примерно 60 граммам. Об этом археологи сообщают в журнале Atiqot.
Камни хорошо обработаны, в результате чего не только сглажены, но и имеют особую аэродинамическую форму. Это, по мнению исследователей, обеспечивало эффективное и точное метание. Впоследствии эта форма (биконическая) была признана самой эффективной, в результате чего использовалась в греческой и римской армии.

Снаряды для пращи имеют одинаковую форму
Схожесть веса, формы и размера снарядов говорит о том, что пращи изготавливались массово для использования воинами. До этого момента, как уже было сказано выше, люди не обрабатывали снаряды, а просто искали камни подходящего размера и веса, например, гальку.
По сути, находка является самым ранним свидетельством организованной войны в Южном Леванте. Возможно, с этим связано увеличение размеров поселений в регионе в этот период времени. Причем руины общественных зданий говорят о том, что общество древних людей было расслоенным. То есть поселения представляли собой разные центры силы, которые, возможно, воевали между собой.
Ученые также отмечают, что камни для пращи часто находили группами. Отсюда можно сделать выводы о том, как они использовались. По мнению исследователей, снаряды выпускались массово. Вполне даже возможно, что группа пращников обеспечивала заградительный огонь. Таким образом воины могли разрывать строй в шеренге противника.
