Постковидный синдром все еще плохо изучен
Чтобы понять как коронавирус воздействует на мозг человека, сотрудники Ливерпульского университета проанализировали 203 пациента, госпитализированных с COVID-19. Полученные данные они сравнили с данными полученными после обследования 60 здоровых людей. В результате обнаружили четыре биомаркера черепно-мозговой травмы, то есть признаки изменений, которые у людей возникают при механическом повреждении мозга.
И что еще более удивительно — два из четырех признаков сохраняются даже после выздоровления человека. Отсюда можно сделать вывод, что изменения в мозге продолжаются даже после выздоровления человека. Неврологические осложнения, которые наблюдаются у людей при постковидном синдроме, подтверждают это предположение. Об этом авторы работы сообщают в журнале Nature Communications.
Как длительный COVID-19 повреждает мозг
Как сообщают исследователи, осложнения головного мозга при постковидном синдроме могут быть как легкими, проявляющимися в виде головных болей, так и опасными для жизни, вызывающими судороги, и, как уже было сказано выше, инсульт и энцефалит. При этом возникает дефицит мозговой активности, эквивалентный 20 годам старения мозга. Подобные последствия действительно аналогичны травмам мозга. Причем осложнения могут сохраняться в течение длительного времени.
