Согласно официальной теории, предки людей и сами люди возникли в Африке. До определенного момента они эволюционировали на этом континенте, а затем в результате миграции расселились по Европе и всему остальному миру. Причем миграция происходила несколькими волнами. Однако последние находки окаменелостей ископаемых обезьян в Турции и Европе опровергает эту версию. Многие ученые даже заговорили о том, что на самом деле гоминиды возникли в Европе, а затем переселились в Африку в период между 7 и 9 миллионами лет назад. Правда, речь не о самом человеке, а общем предке людей и человекообразных обезьян. Разделение же на эти две ветви, судя по всему, произошло все же в Африке.

Предок человека мог появиться в западной части Европы, а не Африке

В недавнем исследовании антропологи изучили обнаруженную ранее окаменелость обезьяны, которая датируется возрастом 8,7 миллиона лет. Ее останки были обнаружены в поселении Чоракьерлер в Турции. Анализ показал, что кости принадлежат неизвестному виду, который назвали Anadoluuvius turkae. Название вида указывает на связь с Анатолией (провинцией Османской империи) и Турцией.
Как сообщается в исследовании, A. turkae весил порядка 50-60 килограммов, то есть примерно столько же, сколько весит крупный самец шимпанзе. Мощные челюсти и крупные зубы с толстой эмалью говорят о том, что животное питалось твердой пищей, например, корнями растений. При этом большую часть времени оно проводило на земле. На скольких лапах передвигалось животное, показ неизвестно. Ранее мы рассказывали, что предок человека, возможно, ходил на двух ногах более 11 миллионов лет назад.

Ученые также исследовали останки других животных, обнаруженных рядом с A. turkae. К ним относятся жирафы, носороги, антилопы, зебры, слоны и гиены. Результаты показали, то обезьяна жила в сухом лесу. Условия обитания сильно отличались от тех, в которых живут современные шимпанзе.

В своем исследовании ученые сконцентрировали внимание частях черепа животного, которые были найдены в 2015 году, причем они неплохо сохранились. Окаменелости включают в себя элементы лицевой структуры и передней части черепа. Сохранившиеся кости помогли авторам восстановить эволюционные связи.
По мнению ученых, A. turkae и другие обезьяны, которые были обнаружены в смежных регионах, например в Греции и Болгарии, являются прародителями ранних форм человекообразных существ. Это приводит к мысли о том, что самые первые стадии эволюции человекообразных могли происходить в Европе и восточном Средиземноморье. Также авторы работы утверждают, что древние обезьяны из Балканского региона и Анатолии имели предков из Центральной и Западной Европы. Об этом исследователи сообщают в журнале Communications Biology.

Если ученые правы, то возникает другой вопрос — почему гоминины, появившиеся в Европе, практически полностью исчезли? И почему древние гоминины не распространились в Азии? По мнению некоторых ученых, причина в том, что условия в Азии в тот период времени не способствовали миграции, зато они были подходящими для этих животных в Африке.
При этом гоминины, которые жили в Европе, со временем вымерли. Это могло быть связано с изменениями окружающей среды, к примеру, изменениями климата. Однако эту версию еще необходимо проверить. По словам ученых, условия, которые преобладали в те периоды времени, имеют важное значение для понимания эволюционных процессов. В настоящее время только известно, то в период между 14 и 7 миллионами лет назад, условия в Европе, Азии и Африке сильно отличались. Более точное их понимание, возможно, поможет раскрывать тайны нашего происхождения.
Однако не все ученые согласны с версией о том, что предок человека и современных человекообразных обезьян эволюционировал в Европе. То, что окаменелости A. turkae ранее не были обнаружены в Африке, еще не говорит о том, что этого животного не было на континенте. Палеонтологическая аксиома, гласит так — “отсутствие свидетельств не является свидетельством отсутствия”.

Тем не менее, имеющаяся в настоящее время информация все же говорит, что Африка не является в полной мере колыбелью человечества. Гоминины имеют европейские корни, а Африка, возможно, в какой-то период времени лишь помогла эволюционировать. Но окончательную точку в этом вопросе поставят будущие полевые исследования в Африке и Европе.
