В своем исследовании авторы в течение суток измеряли количество Т-лимфоцитов у мужчин и женщин. Мониторинг осуществлялся как в период бодрствования, так и в момент, когда люди спали. Напомним, что Т-клетки играют ключевую роль в обеспечении клеточного иммунитета. Их задача заключается в уничтожении вирусов и бактерий, борьбе со злокачественными клетками, а также формировании клеточной памяти, благодаря которой в будущем иммунитет распознает патоген, попадающий в организм, и сразу его уничтожает.
Исследование показало, что во время сна Т-клетки активнее реагируют на сигнальный белок-хемокин CCL19, синтезирующийся в лимфатических узлах. Этот белок указывает путь Т-лимфоцитам к лимфоузлам и побуждает их мигрировать. В ходе исследования ученые смешали сторонние Т-лимфоциты с плазмой крови спавших людей. В результате они обнаружили, что чужие клетки иммунитета тоже показали готовность взаимодействовать с белком CCL19 и мигрировать туда, откуда он к ним приходит. Об этом авторы исследования сообщают в журнале Brain, Behavior, and Immunity. Это говорит о том, что с самими клетками иммунитета во сне ничего не происходит, а изменения касаются исключительно лимфы.

Почему для клеток иммунитета важны лимфоузлы
Дело в том, что Т-лимфоциты являются частью адаптивного иммунитета. То есть они реагируют не на все патогены, которые попадают в организм, а только конкретные вирусы или бактерии. То есть им нужны определенные молекулярные приметы, которыми тот или иной патоген отличается от других патогенов.
Чтобы обнаружить и запомнить молекулярные приметы, Т-клетки должны самостоятельно “исследовать” молекулы патогена и сверить их с «иммунной памятью», то есть данными от других иммунных клеток. В результате возникает обмен межклеточными сигналами, в результате которых происходит подтверждение и уточнение угрозы. Лимфатические же узлы можно описать как некие центры обучение Т-лимфоцитов, так как лимфа собирает чужеродные молекулы из межклеточной жидкости в тканях и доставляет в лимфоузлы. Среди этих молекул, разумеется, есть и части патогенов. В результате Т-клетки в лимфоузлах получают необходимые образцы, на которых обучаются и понимают, с чем именно им необходимо бороться.
